MARCUS THEATRES® ANNOUNCES RETRO SERIES TO ENJOY THIS AUGUST AND SEPTEMBER

“Lord of the Rings,” Musicals, “Jaws” and “Goonies” Coming to the Big Screen

 

ABOUT THE PROGRAMS:

As summer comes to a close, Marcus Theatres® and Marcus Wehrenberg Theatres invite audiences to relax and rewind with old favorites back on the big screen. From “Lord of the Rings” to Hollywood classics, these new retro offerings will delight audiences of all ages.

 

“LORD OF THE RINGS” RETRO SERIES:

Return to Middle-earth with the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy. August 12, 13 and 15: “The Fellowship of the Ring” — Rated PG 13

A meek Hobbit from the Shire and eight companions set out on a journey to destroy the powerful One Ring and save Middle-earth from the Dark Lord Sauron.

August 19, 20 and 22: “The Two Towers” — Rated PG 13

While Frodo and Sam edge closer to Mordor with the help of the shifty Gollum, the divided fellowship makes a stand against Sauron’s new ally, Saruman, and his hordes of Isengard.

August 26, 27 and 29: “The Return of the King” — Rated PG 13

Gandalf and Aragorn lead the World of Men against Sauron’s army to draw his gaze from Frodo and Sam as they approach Mount Doom with the One Ring.

August 5, 6 and 8: “Blue Hawaii” — Rated PG

After arriving back in Hawaii from the Army, Chad Gates defies his parents’ wishes to work at the family pineapple business and instead decides to work as a tour guide at his girlfriend’s agency.

September 2, 3 and 5: “Hello, Dolly!” — Rated G

Matchmaker Dolly Levi travels to Yonkers to find a partner for “half-a-millionaire” Horace Vandergelder, convincing Horace’s family and his employees to travel to New York City along the way.
